Alex Kavutskiy & Ariel Gardner are best known for their cinematic takes on absurd premises at the monthly 5-minute television festival Channel 101. Their primetime shows include the story of a drug dealer who turns to teaching in Breaking Good (2013), a cop who throws fishbowls in Fishbowls Are Definitely My Thing (2014), and a father who wants to destroy his infant son in Kill The Baby (2015).
Alex & Ariel received a "Vimeo Staff Pick" selection for KILL THE BABY. The 8-episodes series went on to sweep the 2015 Channy Awards, garnering Best Show, Best Directing, Best Writing, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Supporting Actress, Best Voice Performance, and Best Gross Out Moment.
In 2016, their acclaimed dark comedy short "JUDY" premiered at Fantastic Fest. They regularly release short films such as "Sound Speeds," "A Ripple of Nothing Significant," and "Topless Maid" at their live show "Alex & Ariel's Six Flags Magic Mountain."
In 2017, Alex & Ariel released their debut feature film at the Laemmle Music Hall, an adaptation of their 101 pilot On The Rocks. The film premiered at Mammoth Lakes Film Festival and is currently available for streaming on iTunes, Amazon, Vudu, and Google Play.
